ScraPan provides doorstep scrap pickup services. We collect only the information reasonably required to create and manage your customer account, schedule pickups, communicate service updates, complete pickup operations and support users.

This Privacy Policy applies to the ScraPan website at https://scrapan.com, the ScraPan customer portal, and the ScraPan – Home Scrap Pickup Android app.

2. Information We Collect

Depending on how you use ScraPan, we may collect the following information:

• Account and contact information: your name and mobile number.
• Pickup information: pickup address, pincode, landmark, selected scrap material, estimated quantity, preferred pickup date/time, notes and other booking details you submit.
• Photos you choose to upload: images of scrap items or other booking-related images that you voluntarily provide.
• Transaction and service records: booking status, weighment details, quotations, pickup results, payment status and support history related to your ScraPan service.
• App and notification information: device/app identifiers and Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) tokens used to deliver booking and pickup notifications to the ScraPan customer app.
• Essential website/app session information: session identifiers and similar technical data required to keep users signed in and operate the customer portal securely.

ScraPan does not continuously track your device's precise GPS location as part of the customer service described in this policy. Your pickup location is based on the address and related details that you provide. If ScraPan introduces a feature that accesses precise device location in the future, this policy and any required in-app disclosure will be updated before that feature is used.

3. How We Use Information

We use information for purposes including:

• Creating and maintaining your customer account.
• Creating, scheduling, managing and completing scrap pickup requests.
• Connecting a pickup request with an appropriate ScraPan pickup partner or service personnel.
• Providing booking confirmations, status updates and push notifications.
• Calculating estimated and final pickup values, weighment information and service records.
• Providing customer support and resolving complaints, cancellations or disputes.
• Maintaining service security, preventing misuse and complying with applicable legal requirements.
• Improving the reliability and operation of the ScraPan website and app.

4. How We Share Information

We do not sell or rent your personal information for monetary consideration. We may share only the information necessary for legitimate service purposes with:

• Pickup partners and service personnel: information required to accept, locate, contact and complete your pickup request.
• Technology service providers: infrastructure and notification providers used to operate ScraPan. For example, Google Firebase may process device notification tokens in order to deliver push notifications.
• Authorities or legal recipients: when disclosure is required by applicable law, legal process, court order or a valid government request.
• Business protection recipients: where reasonably necessary to investigate fraud, abuse, security incidents or protect the rights and safety of ScraPan, users or others.

5. Firebase Cloud Messaging

The ScraPan Android app uses Firebase Cloud Messaging to send service-related notifications such as pickup confirmations, partner assignment and booking status updates. For this purpose, the app may generate and store an FCM token and device identifier associated with your ScraPan account. These identifiers are used for notification delivery and app functionality.

6. Cookies and Sessions

The ScraPan website and customer portal may use essential cookies or session identifiers to keep you signed in, maintain booking progress, protect forms and provide core functionality. These technologies are used for service operation and security.

7. Data Security

We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards designed to protect personal information, including HTTPS connections, access controls and restricted access to systems used to operate the service. However, no method of transmission or storage can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

8. Data Retention

We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, including providing the service, maintaining booking and transaction records, handling disputes, preventing fraud and meeting legal, accounting or regulatory obligations.

When information is no longer required, we may delete or anonymize it. Limited copies may remain for a reasonable period in secure backups or where retention is required by law.

9. Account and Data Deletion

Customers may request deletion of their ScraPan account and associated personal data. Requests can be made through the account-deletion mechanism provided on the ScraPan website or by contacting ScraPan support using the details below.

When a valid deletion request is received, ScraPan will delete or anonymize personal data associated with the account except information that must be retained for legal, fraud-prevention, accounting, dispute-resolution or other legitimate compliance purposes.

10. Your Choices and Rights

Subject to applicable law, you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information associated with your ScraPan account. You may also disable app notifications through your Android device settings. Disabling notifications does not prevent you from using the core booking service.

11. Children's Privacy

ScraPan is a general household scrap pickup service and is not specifically directed to children. Users should only provide information where they are legally permitted to do so.

12. Third-Party Services and Links

ScraPan may use third-party technology or contain links to third-party services. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies. ScraPan is not responsible for the privacy practices of independent third-party websites or services.

13. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when the ScraPan service, app functionality, legal requirements or data practices change. The revised policy will be posted on this page with an updated date.
